Let's Ride to Cedartown: Rescue Riders to Hold Second Annual ...

The Georgia Rescue Riders will hold its second annual ?Let?s Ride to Cedartown? motorcycle rally on Saturday, April 20, to raise awareness and financial support for Murphy-Harpst Children?s Centers. Murphy-Harpst, a non-profit residential treatment facility in Cedartown, Ga., provides a safe haven for Georgia?s most severely abused children, who have nowhere else to turn. ?

On the morning of April 20, the Rescue Riders will gather in metro-Atlanta and set off on an inspiring spring excursion to Murphy-Harpst, where the riders will share lunch with the children, play games and help create positive memories.

While the riders desire to bring blessings to the children, last year?s inaugural event resulted in many riders feeling blessed by the experience. ?One Rescue Rider, Cheryl McGinn, described the experience as moving.?

"The experience at Murphy-Harpst last year impacted me in a phenomenal way,? McGinn said. ?I bonded with one young girl who showed me her living area. While she was grateful to have the living quarters, she still wanted to go home to her mother, even though she admitted that her mother abused her. It made me cry, she touched my heart so. Praise the Lord for what you are doing for these young people---what Jesus called the least of these, our precious children."

Proceeds from the event go directly to Murphy-Harpst. Anyone can register to participate or donate as a ride partner; the fee to ride is $35 for the primary rider and $20 for an additional rider. ?Registration includes a Chick-fil-A lunch, t-shirt and gift bag. For those who wish to donate as a ride partner, gifts at all levels make a difference in providing for the children. ?For example, a gift of $50 pays for 50 minutes of therapy for one child, while a gift of $1,500 pays for medical care for all the children for one month. A gift of $10,000 covers the cost of recreational therapy supplies for an entire year.

Sponsors of the Rescue Riders ?Let?s Ride to Cedartown? rally include The Allen Hunt Show, Chick-fil-A and Your Seamless Event, LLC. ?Additional corporate sponsorships are available at various levels including $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000. ??
