If you are a Chicago green homes builder, you definitely don?t want to miss out on your chance to enter the NAHB Green Awards! The National Association of Home Builders is currently accepting submissions for this year?s awards. Every year, the NAHB gives out honors to individuals, companies and organizations for excelling at green design, green construction practices and green building and advocacy efforts.
Now is an especially good time to enter the contest because this year the winners will be announced on January 23rd at the 2013 International Builders? Show in Las Vegas. Barry Rutenberg, NAHB chairman, said the awards are an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to be recognized for their hard work, as well as their commitment to innovation.
The awards are open to both NAHB members and non-NAHB members. To be eligible for the Green Project of the Year categories, projects must have been started no earlier than January 2010 and completed by December 2012.
Here are this year?s categories.
- Single Family, Project of the Year
- Multifamily, Project of the Year
- Remodel, Project of the Year
- Site Development, Project of the Year
- Advocate of the Year
All homes and developments must be scored according to the ICC-700 National Green Building Standard in order to ensure fair comparison for judging purposes. The online Green scoring tool can be accessed as www.nahbgreen.org.
Entries must be received by Oct. 18 2012. The application fees are $250 for Project of the Year entries and $150 for Advocate of the Year entries.
