I have to tell you that I love to use my ping pong machine to practice with. Even though I am not as good as I would like to be in table tennis, I really do enjoy the competition and playing. For some reason, my expertise and abilities on the tennis and squash courts do not transform over to the ping pong, or table tennis table for me. There was a time when I thought that if you could master any one racquet sport you could master them all, but I?m living proof that this is not true.
I don?t know if it?s an eye to hand coordination thing or what, but I definitely have a lot less trouble setting up the proper strokes in the other racquet sports such as tennis, squash and raquetball. Bottom line in any sport is in order to be successful you need to practice as much as possible. I don?t care if your name is Bo Jackson, Andre Agassi,Wayne Gretzky or Joe Montana. The one thing they all have in common is that they put in plenty of practice time to get as good as they got in their respective sports. Just talent alone doesn?t cut it.
The truth is in my case, I just wanted to learn how to play so that I could spend some time playing with my kids without being ridiculed. I can clobber them on the tennis courts but in the basement, they are definitely the champs.
This situation needed to be rectified as it was getting embarrassing. To solve this embarrassment, I invested in a Robo Pong ping pong machine for practice. Just one small problem with this solution which I didn?t foresee from the get go. I didn?t realize that they would be using the ping pong machine to practice on their own, and they moved up a notch in their play level leaving me further behind the eight ball. Even though I did improve and my game got better, so did theirs.I wasn?t counting on that to happen
It turned out to be a smart decision buying a ping pong robot. My kids are happy practicing and playing ping pong. At least I know where they and I don?t have to worry about them doing stuff that they shouldn?t be doing. My house has now become a hangout for their friends and the neighborhood kids. I guess everybody likes the game, and everybody seems to want to compete against a robot to see if they can beat it so to speak.
Well they never will outlast the robot. This thing can serve you a million balls and can keep on going just like the energizer bunny in the commercials does. So let me tell you what I recommend if you are in the market searching for a ping pong practice machine for you or your family.
There are a broad range of ping pong machines for practice that you can buy. All the way from real cheap models to really expensive professional grade models. The mid range machines such as the Newgy 2040 or the Newgy 2050 are really excellent machines. Both of these have the most crucial component that I believe is necessary. That is a recycling net. A recycling net recycles the ping pong balls that you hit back and reloads them to shoot back to you again. If you buy a low end machine that does not have a recycling net, you will be picking up ping pong balls off the floor and after a week or so you will put the robotic machine away in storage and never use it again. In addition, you will end up with a sore back.
Choose a quality ping pong machine for practice, and you will get many years of table tennis fun practicing and improving your game. You might even get to beat your kids once in a while!
