Is it safe to add a bird to my 2 cat household? | Pets All Day

I have 2 adult cats, and i was thinking about getting a cockatiel. Could i some how squirt the cat if it tries to go after it? Any help on training a cat not to stalk the new bird? Many people say that it is possible if you train your cat.
