CANTON, Ohio (AP) - The conduct of an Ohio mayor is under review after he stopped a driver he says ran two stop signs.

The Repository in Canton (http://bit.ly/12hKvB8 ) reports that while Canton's Mayor William Healy II is being praised by some residents of the northeast Ohio community for stopping the driver, city officials are reviewing whether his actions were appropriate.

Among the officials' concerns is the mayor's use of an emergency light in a city-owned, unmarked vehicle to stop the driver.

Healy stopped the male driver as he was leaving an apartment complex where neighbors say traffic problems originate.

Healy says he told the driver the city would be putting extra patrols in the area.

The driver says he did not ignore the stop signs and thought a police officer was stopping him.
