BG Group PLC?s shrugged off concerns over demand for liquefied natural gas, or LNG, amid global financial market turmoil as it presses ahead with a 15 billion Australian dollar (US$15 billion) project in Queensland state.
?We take the long term view of the business and our long term outlook for LNG demand is very positive because we think natural gas is the transition fuel to shift to a cleaner economy,? Catherine Tanna, the Executive Vice President of BG Group Australia told reporters Tuesday.
Tanna dismissed fears that a sharp fall in the value of the Australian dollar has affected the economics of the LNG project.
?We?re comfortable that this will continue to be a good long-term investment for our company,? she said.
